Copenhagen Olympic Bid Project

For the Olympic bid logo project I was given the Winter Olympics and the city of Copenhagen Denmark. The process started with researching the city of Copenhagen and the country of Denmark. Thumbnail sketches of what the logo might look like followed soon after. My initial sketches started out with incorporating various architecture throughout the city such as the Oresund Bridge, the Tivoli Gardens theme park, and the Amalienborg Palace. I also looked at imagery to represent Denmark such as viking ships and Celtic symbols.

The symbol that I settled with was the Danish heart. The Danish heart is a traditional Christmas ornament woven together with paper. It represents joy, love, and togetherness. I combined this concept with the Olympic torch and made the logo feel warm and expressive.

The work showcased below includes sketches, color trials, and merchandise designs. I also entered this project into the 2025 Winter semester FLUX student design competition.
